I've been looking forward to this day for some time. Feeling the strain of getting back on my feet and also having a desire for more company in the woodworking studio, I created a contract position for seasonal help. Fortuitously, Sylvie Drescher of Imogene Froward (she has an Etsy shop!) has answered the call.

Sylvie's first week in the shop has included learning about wood species, as well as mastering finishing and fine detail work on the spindles. She's a wonderful fit, great company, and a talented artist. From her shop description:
All of my designs are original creations and use recycled or eco-friendly materials when available. I am always looking for new ideas to showcase my designs so please check back periodically to see what's new or find me on Facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/ImogeneFrowardArt
A portion of all sale proceeds is donated to the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, CA providing both Patient Care, Research and Education towards a cure.
I am especially enamored with her aquatic themed offerings that include weedy seadragons, Humboldt squid, koi, and crustaceans! She has a fall and woodland creatures theme as well. Through her shop you can find prints, coasters, night lights, magnets and more.
Here's one of my favorite designs of a Humboldt squid as a print.
It's a real joy to have this wonderful lady visiting with me for a few weeks. Isn't it wonderful how artists can come together and help each other both collaboratively and with production? I have lots to learn from her as well. She started an artist collective which supports its members by trading and offering skills amongst themselves like photography, graphic design, marketing assistance and more. By combining their skills, they become mightier! She also has experience with market vending, and I hope to learn much in the weeks to come.
Welcome, Sylvie!
